His physics background, combined with his close collaboration with clinicians and biomedical researchers not only defined cross-linking’s Dresden Protocol, it helped push the field of corneal cross-linking forward into new applications.

An eye surgeon at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic, Prof. Randleman?s focus is on clinical research and corneal biomechanics.
Many know him from the “Randleman score” for corneal ectasia. More recently, he is dedicated to bringing a non-invasive, non-contact method of testing corneal strength, Brillouin microscopy, to market as a means of measuring the effect of corneal cross-linking as on corneal biomechanics ? or in other words, the true efficacy of CXL.
